Getting around Victoria Falls: a first-timer's guide

By Ayana Africa

From border crossings to the best time for the spray — everything you need to move with ease around the Falls.

Victoria Falls is one of the easiest places in Africa to explore — but a little local knowledge goes a long way.

The town itself is small and walkable, with most lodges a short transfer from the Falls. Crossing to the Zambian side is straightforward with the right visa, and worth it for a different view of the gorge.

For the full drama of the spray, visit between February and May, just after the rains. In the drier months the Falls are gentler but you'll see more of the rock face. Whenever you come, we'll handle the logistics so you can simply enjoy it.
